KENYA:National U20 Women team steps up preparations for Jordan friendlies

The National U20 Women team took part in a build-up friendly match against the National Boys U13 team, today August 23, 2017, ahead of the team’s two legged friendly matches against the Jordan U20 team on August 29 and August 31, 2017

The Junior Starlets, who edged out Botswana 7-1 in the preliminary round of the 2018 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, lost 2-1 to the U13 boys’ team, which is fresh from winning the Shield trophy in the Southampton Cup Tournament, staged in Southampton, England

Seven players who started the match against Botswana, however, did not feature in the match, as they are taking part in the East Africa Ball games in Uganda

“Seven players of the first eleven are at the East African Games, so it was important for us to see how we can play without them,” said FKF Vice President and Head of Women Football Doris Petra

The team is currently in camp in Machakos and is set to depart to Jordan on August 27, 2017
